The mini-golf night will help celebrate spending time outdoors while supporting the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.
The North Penn YMCA is inviting area families out for a little outdoor mini golf. The event will take place April 26, from 6 – 9 p.m. at Freddy Hill Farms, located at 1440 Sumneytown Pike in Lansdale. “It’s going to be a family outing,” Donna Smallwood, North Penn YMCA coordinator of special events, said. “We figured we could get them outside and have some fun.” Tickets for the event cost $10, and proceeds will benefit the YMCA "Strong Kids Campaign". According to the North Penn YMCA website, the “Strong Kids Campaign” is the theme for the YMCA annual Gifts Campaign, which aims to make YMCA programs available to all people, regardless of their financial situation. Lisa, a hound and mini-pinscher mix, was found by an unknown person walking through the woods to Freddy Hill Farms
Lisa, the hound and mini-pinscher mix, who was last seen at 7 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, was found dead in the woods by her home. Lisa's owners, Mary, Mike, Zach, Nicole and Bear Jayes, reported she was very close to her home when she was discovered Thursday by an unknown person walking through the woods to get to Freddy Hill Farms in Towamencin. The family believed Lisa was kicked in the head by the deer she was chasing. The family said her body was already in the decomposition stage. A $100 reward for the person who brings Lisa home safely to her Towamencin doghouse. Lisa, a hound and mini-pinscher mix, was last seen at 7 a.m. Tuesday near Ide Drive in Towamencin, according to her owner Mary Jayes. Ide Drive is located near Freddy Hill Farms; the neighborhood is located off Green Lane Road and Sumneytown Pike. The owners noted Lisa is afraid of people and hard to catch. She has a hook at the end of her tail and is wearing a bright pink collar. She is microchipped. If you've seen her, call 215-237-6854. Lisa had not returned as of 6 p.m. Wednesday. Lisa was rescued from a flood in Mississippi, stricken with parvo and severely abused, according to Jayes. She was adopted from Wags Rescue and Referral.

Police said the driver appeared to be having a medical emergency on the side of the road, and then accelerated and hit a tree
Towamencin Township Police Sgt. Dan Jusko said a female driver hit a tree in front of Freddy Hill Farms after she stopped on the side of the road for what appeared to be a medical emergency. The woman was taken out of her maroon Chevy Trailblazer by Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale and transported to Abington Health-Lansdale Hospital. Jusko said officers on regular patrol on Sumneytown Pike came upon the woman in her vehicle on the side of the road. He said officers were not able to stop her from driving into the tree. "Officers saw her pulled off on the side of the road. It looks like she was having a medical emergency," Jusko said. "And then ended up driving into the tree." Freddy Hill Farms will continue to host its annual Fall Festival through weekends in October.
The weekends in October are always so busy, with countless events happening each Saturday and Sunday. But, those living in and near Lansdale Patch know that one of the most popular choices in the area is at Freddy Hill Farms. Along with the complexes usual entertainment of batting cages, miniature golf, a small petting zoo and ice cream shop, the farm also plans countless activities over four weekends in October. Each Saturday and Sunday, the fest includes action from noon to 5 p.m. It will continue to run in its final dates Oct. 23, 29 and 30. There is still a chance to find the perfect gourd!
