UPDATE: Community Collecting Items for Skippack Fire Victims

After the fatal Fort Bevon Road fire on New Year’s morning, community members are collecting clothes, toys and household items for the three surviving family members who have been displaced.

One Dead in Skippack Township New Year's Fire

The body of George Hobensack was found after an early-morning house fire on Fort Bevon Road

Updated at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 1: George Hobensack, 47, was found dead in his home on the 2000 block of Fort Bevon Road in Skippack after a fire broke out around midnight on Jan. 1. The cause and origin of the fire are being investigated, and the death is not considered suspicious at this time, according to thePennsylvania State Police. Montgomery County Detective Bureau and Coroner, Skippack, Worcester, Harleysville, Lower Providence and Upper Gwynedd Fire Departments, Skippack and Harleysville EMS, and the North Penn Good Will were on the scene.
