Man Robbed at Gunpoint in Hatfield Borough Park

Hatfield Township Police are investigating a robbery at gunpoint that occurred under a bridge in Centennial Park in Hatfield Borough Wednesday night

Hatfield Township Police are searching for a man in his 30s who robbed a man at gunpoint of cash and property under a bridge in Centennial Park in Hatfield Borough Wednesday night. The suspect is described as a man in his 30s, 6 feet 1 inch to 6 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 150 to 200 pounds, wearing blue jeans, tan work boots, and a black-hooded sweatshirt, police said. His face was covered by a black bandana, police said. On Jan. 23, at 6:55 p.m., Hatfield Township Police responded to an armed robbery dispatch at Centennial Park on Cherry Street in the borough. Cowpath Road in Hatfield Reopens After Gas Main Break

A gas main break forced the closure of Main Street/Cowpath Road in Hatfield Borough Tuesday afternoon through rush hour

Tuesday, 9:09 p.m. Update Cowpath Road in Hatfield is now reopened. Earlier Story South Main Street/Cowpath Road in Hatfield Borough is temporarily closed between Vine Street and Orvilla Road due to a gas main break that occurred around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday. The gas main became displaced after a subcontractor snagged the line while repaving the street for North Penn Water Authority, according to Dan Sokil of The Reporter. Hatfield Township released a statement that it is unknown how long repairs will take, and roads were completely closed during rush hour. Sokil tweeted that the leak occurred on the 500 block of Cowpath Road. Gas service was shut off to at least one home, Sokil reported. If not repaired by the evening, Hatfield Borough will …

Hatfield Mother Admits to Getting Drunk, Leaving 11-Day-Old Daughter in Unheated Car in December

Courtenay Jernigan, 37, was sentenced to time-served to 23 months in prison afer pleading guilty Thursday to endangering the welfare of a child

Hatfield mother Courtenay L. Jernigan, 37, admitted in Montgomery County Court Thursday to getting drunk, passing out, and leaving her 11-day-old daughter in an unheated car in 28-degree December weather for two hours. According to PhillyBurbs.com, Jernigan pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child and was sentenced to time-served to 23 months in prison. Jernigan, a two-time DUI offender, has been in jail since her Dec. 12 arrest, according to court records. Following parole, Jernigan will served a three-year probation, according to the article. Stepping Stones 'Very Much Alive,' Accepting Donations

The nursery school and daycare is operating out of the newer church building and may be relocating temporarily to a separate church

Stepping Stones Nursery School and Daycare is here to stay. "Stepping Stones is not gone. Stepping Stones is not over. Yes, we lost our school building, but we didn't lose our school," said director Lori Bezanis. "The teachers and families and children are what makes Stepping Stones. We are very much alive and continue to move on and move forward." Stepping Stones is operating out of the newer church building. Bezanis said Grace Lutheran Church will "absolutely" be rebuilding the old portion of the church destroyed by the Dec. 31 fire. Fire Marshal, ATF Investigating Church Fire

The fire broke out early morning New Year's Eve

Hatfield Vol. Fire Co. Chief Terry O'Donnell said the borough fire marshal and investigators from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are still investigating the cause of the early Saturday morning fire that destroyed the older portion of Grace Lutheran Church. O'Donnell said those parties will determine the cause of the fire. O'Donnell would not say if arson was a factor in the fire. The fire began shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday. The roof, interior and basement of the old church were destroyed. Calls to Stepping Stones Nursery School and Grace Lutheran Church were unsuccessful. Fire Ravages Grace Lutheran Church

Nine fire companies respond to a fire that broke out at the Hatfield Borough chuch shortly after 1 a.m.

[We've since updated our overnight coverage of the fire. Click here to read.] Grace Lutheran Church has been heavily damaged by a fire early New Year's Eve in Hatfield Borough. At around 1:23 a.m., two units from Hatfield Vol. Fire Co. arrived on the scene of the fire at 25 E. Broad St, according to Montgomery County Dispatch records. They were assisted in minutes by Towamencin Vol. Fire Co. and Preseverance Vol. Fire Co. of Souderton. At 2:02 a.m., Breaking News Network reported the fire department on scene, with heavy smoke showing from the roof of the church.
