Breanna Hitchens, of Colmar, has organized the event, taking place at 7 p.m. at Memorial Park in Lansdale, to recognize and celebrate the life of Dennis Kee, 15, who was killed when he was hit by a car on Route 309 last Friday night.
A candlelight vigil in recognition of the life of former Penndale student Dennis "Denny" Kee, 15, will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. at Lansdale's Memorial Park. Kee was hit by a car as he crossed Route 309 in Hatfield Township late Friday night. He was pronounced dead early Saturday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. Lansdale Borough Parks and Recreation were informed of the request for the vigil at Wednesday night's committee meeting. Lansdale Parks and Recreation Director Carl Saldutti said the request was made by Colmar resident Breanna Hitchens. The Reporter in Lansdale reports a pedestrian was struck by a car around 6 p.m. Friday at Second and North Broad streets. A man was seen strapped to a gurney and was transported by Volunteer Medical Service Corps, according to reports and reader accounts. This is the third such incident at that intersection since March. In November, an eighth grader ran into a North Penn School District bus with his bike. A 5-year-old boy was hit by a car at the intersection in March. Stay tuned for further updates.

Towamencin Police said the driver of the vehicle violated no laws
The 7-year-old boy who was hit by a driver Tuesday morning on Bustard Road has been released from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The child ran into the roadway while walking with an adult, police said. Police said the driver of the strking vehicle was identified as Kun Lee, 68, of the 500 block of Hagey Place, Collegeville. Lee did not leave the road or commit a violation, police said. Lee waited at the scene for police after striking the child, police said. A 7-year-old boy was hit by a car on Bustard Road in Towamencin around 10:15 a.m. near Old Morris Road, according to reports. The youth was MedEvaced by PennStar, which landed at the Towamencin Fire Station on Bustard Road. According to The Reporter Online, the boy was walking with a group of pedestrians and was struck by a vehicle in the southbound lane of Bustard Road. According to the article, a child’s pair of gray sneakers, with black stripes and white laces, was visible at the scene. One of the shoes was in the middle of the southbound lane of Bustard Road, and later had a yellow chalk circle drawn around it as the investigation commenced, according to the article. Police are investigating two instances where pedestrians with baby strollers were hit by vehicles
Lansdale Police are investigating two instances where pedestrians were struck by drivers. In both instances, pedestrians were reported with baby strollers. The first incident occurred Friday morning April 13 at Church and Hancock roads where a woman - known to locals as "The Lansdale Walker" - was reportedly struck by a female driver. The baby stroller was also hit. The driver pulled over in the area of Penndale Middle School, according to Lansdale Patch readers. The daughter of the victim said her mother and her daughter were rushed to Abington Hospital for treatment.
