A feasibility assessment report for the proposed Montgomery Township Recreation and Community Center outlines the center's potential come 2014 and beyond
Montgomery Township will hold the first of many public meetings this evening at 7 to discuss and review the proposed township community and recreation center to be constructed at Stump and Horsham roads. In preparation for the meeting, the township has released the facility needs assessment and feasibility study report conducted by Kimmel Bogrette Architecture + Site. You can read the report at this link. One of the major aspects of the study — the center will be financially successful if it draws users from beyond Montgomery Township. The first year of operation will be 2014 or later, according to the report. North Penn Life reports two women were injured in a Wednesday afternoon three-vehicle crash at Stump and Horsham roads. Around 12:45 p.m., a gold Chevrolet Blazer that was west on Horsham Road rear-ended a white Hyundai Sonata, which was pushed into a white Dodge Dakota pickup truck, according to the article. The driver of the Blazer failed to slow down for slow-moving traffic on Horsham Road, according to reports. The passenger of the Hyundai had to be rescued from the vehicle, according to reports. The passenger and the driver of the Hyundai were injured and taken by Volunteer Medical Service Corps to Abington Memorial Hospital, according to the article. Two victims were transported to Lansdale Hospital and a third to Abington Memorial Hospital following the Wednesday morning crash at Horsham Road/Route 463 and Upper State Road in Montgomery Township
Three people were injured and one was rescued following a Wednesday morning three-vehicle crash at Horsham and Upper State roads. Police said the accident occurred at 8:18 a.m. A vehicle was turning left from Horsham Road/Route 463 westbound onto southbound Upper State Road, when it was impacted by two vehicles, according to Lt. Gerry Dougherty of Montgomery Township Police. One person was trapped in a vehicle, police said. Two victims were transported to Lansdale Hospital for treatment, and the third was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital, police said. A 57-year-old motorcyclist died Wednesday following a collision with a vehicle on Horsham Road and Maple Avenue in Horsham. Michael Reigel, of Warminster, was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital were he was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the 7:09 a.m. crash, Horsham Police said. Police said preliminary investigation determined that an automobile driven by Stephen Michniewicz, 20, of Lansdale, was traveling east on Horsham Road and collided with Reigel's motorcycle, which was traveling west on Horsham Road. Intersection littered with debris after collision at Stump and Horsham roads in Montgomery Township
A two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Stump and Horsham roads in Montgomery Township had traffic slowed to a crawl, as Unit 18 Rescue from the Fire Department of Montgomery Township worked to free one of the drivers. At about 12:30 p.m., police and fire units were dispatched to the scene where a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee T-boned a Buick Enclave, directly in front of the township building. The driver of the Buick was stuck inside the vehicle. Members of Fire Department of Montgomery Township extricated the driver through the driver's side door. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage.
