East Pleads Not Guilty

The Towamencin man is accused of killing his 3-month-old son in June.

Towamencin resident Jameel East has pleaded not guilty in the June death of his 3-month-old son, Enzo East, according to the Lansdale Reporter. East was charged with killing his son in June after a caseworker with Montgomery County Children and Youth informed police that the infant had been transported to Lansdale Hospital after sustaining severe head trauma. The infant was later medevaced to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. An autopsy revealed that Enzo had died from multiple skull fractures and blunt force trauma to the head. Jameel Earthy East, 22, charged with third-degree murder after infant son died from fractured skull and brain injuries

Charges of third-degree murder, a class one felony, and lying to police in a written statement against Jameel Earthy East, of the 400 block of Lantern Lane, Towamencin, were held over for a preliminary hearing July 11 at 10 a.m. before District Judge Harold Borek. East was arraigned at 2 p.m. Wednesday before Judge Catherine Hummel-Fried in Red Hill. According to an affidavit, a caseworker with Montgomery County Office of Children and Youth Services reproted to police June 25 at 8:10 a.m. that a male infant, Enzo East, aged 3 months, was transported from his home to Abington Health Lansdale Hospital. Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman and Towamencin Township Police Chief Tim Dickinson have announced the arrest of a Towamencin man for the murder of his 3-month-old son. Jameel Earthy East, of the 400 block of Lantern Lane, Towamencin, is charged with third-degree murder and unsworn falsification to authorities. He allegedly fractured the skull of his infant son, Enzo East, police said. East will be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. before District Judge Catherine Hummel Fried in Red Hill.
