'The Music Man' Wows at North Penn

The spring musical, based on the Meredith Willson play, went out on a high note following its three-day run

"The Music Man" was a hit with audiences at North Penn High School. The musical was based on the (Robert) Meredith Willson story about a con man named Harold Hill who lands in River City posing as a music instructor and sells instruments and uniforms to the townsfolk, in order to scam them out of money. What he ends up doing is changing River City for the better, falling in love with the librarian/piano teacher and coming to terms with who he really is. Theatre teacher Andrea Roney produced and co-directed the musical, along with Debra Buckner. Buckner was also choreographer. Music was provided by the high school orchestra, led by Matthew Klenk. Sean Burns provided piano and keyboard. The musical starred senior Gabe Quinodoz as protagonist…
