Lansdale Website Redesign Begins Friday with RFP

Lansdale Borough is seeking applicants locally and nationally for its holistic redesign of www.lansdale.org. Requests for Proposals are due April 19 to Lansdale Borough at 1 Vine St.

Local and national website designers will have a chance, starting Friday through April 19, to submit proposals for the desperate facelift of Lansdale Borough's online brand. "Something had to be done about it," said Councilman and Communication Commission Chair Denton Burnell at Wednesday night's council session. "We're going to take a holistic approach. It's not simply about making the website look better; it's really in how we organize the content that's there, how to ... extend and adapt and improve the site as we grow as a borough." However large the construction project may end up being -- $6 million, $8 million, or $10 million -- that work WILL BE BID like every other infrastructure project has to be. A website redesign is on the horizon in Lansdale Borough, as two commissions implement the branding touchpoints from the recent brand narrative and platform. Local designers, and national designers, can submit a Request for Proposal

Lansdale Borough knows its website stinks. It's no surprise then — now that the 100-plus-page branding narrative and platform from North Star Destination Strategies is in the hands of borough council and committeemembers — that a facelift of www.lansdale.org is a major branding touchpoint to be implemented ASAP. "It's not easy," said Communication Commission Chairman Denton Burnell Monday night at the joint session with the borough Economic Development Committee, "but we absolutely have to tackle it now 100 percent.
