Find the Bookmobile in Your Town This Week

The library offers services throughout the county. Check the schedule here.

It can be hard to get to the library, but thankfully in Montgomery County, you don't have to worry about that. The library can come to you. The Montgomery County Public Library offers a rotating bookmobile schedule throughout the area. The schedule varies to its 23 locations. "This is a free traveling library, and all Montgomery County residents are eligible for a library card," said the library's website. "This service is sponsored by the Montgomery County Commissioners and local municipalities." Besides the expected books, cardholders can also borrow multimedia items from the roaming bookmobile. Poll: Where Do You Prefer a Lansdale Skate Park?

Lansdale Parks and Recreation is in the process of assessing borough-owned sites in Lansdale for a future location of a skate park

Lansdale Assessing Sites for Future Skate Park

Councilwoman Mary Fuller dubbed 2013 "the year of the skate park." Parks and Recreation Director Carl Saldutti discussed his research with Abington, Ambler and Quakertown skate parks — and how to get Hatfield Township on board with the borough's plan

2013 — The Year of the Skate Park Lansdale Parks and Recreation Chairwoman Mary Fuller has dubbed this year the year when Lansdale Borough brings a skate park to the community. The committee discussed its early progress on development of such a park Wednesday night. The borough is currently in the "learning mode" and "exploring mode" for the skate park. What was revealed at that meeting — Five potential sites for the park, with the jointly-owned Schweiker Park on the list. Lansdale Parks and Recreation Director Carl Saldutti is meeting with the Hatfield Township Park Board on Monday to update them on the borough's plan. I couldn't agree more about allowing bikes at the park. Not only are we taxpayers who get hassled out of local spots, the bmx scene, in lansdale especially, is growing and expanding at a pretty rapid pace. Bikers need a safe place to ride without getting kicked out or fined. Along with the skaters, we can organize and help with the planning, labor, and general upkeep of the park. Powerball at $500M: Where Are Tickets Sold Near You?

The drawing is at 10:59 p.m. Wednesday. Several Montgomeryville, Lansdale and North Penn area businesses sell Powerball tickets

The jackpot for Wednesday's Powerball lottery drawing has grown to $500 million, reportedly the largest in Powerball history. The cash value is $327.4 million. No one has won since Oct. 3. If you want to break that streak, here are some North Penn area retailers that sell Pennsylvania Lottery products, including the $2 tickets for Powerball: To find other Powerball vendors in the Philadelphia or Montgomery County area, plug an address or ZIP code into the Pennsylvania Lottery website's retailer-locator application. The drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. Wednesday. Ticket sales for that drawing end no later than 10 p.m.; check with your local retailer to find out its cutoff policy.
