For 14 years, Mary Bauer was a single mom. She knew her now husband Jeson was special when he insisted her daugther come along on their first date. "We met on one of those dating services onlie and hit it off right away," Mary said. "I knew he was a special guy when, on our first date, he insisted that my 14 year old comes with us. He didn't think it was fair that she was left out." Mary said that Jeson has shown his love over and over again. "When I got a bad back injury, he was there for me. When we had our first baby together, and it turned out to be an urgent C-section, he stayed calm through the whole thing to protect me," she said. "He is an awesome guy who loves his family so much." Daniela Gaeta and Shawn McCaul's love story began in the third grade at St. Stanislaus Elementary School and blossomed at Pennbrook Middle School. "It's funny — we went to the same elementary school in third grade, but we never knew each other. We met in ninth grade at Pennbrook Middle School when a friend of mine introduced us and we became friends," Daniela, of Lansdale, said. "A few months later, we started dating and we became closer." The couple will celebrate their ninth anniversary in March. "After a few years, I knew that I couldn't see myself with anyone else," she said. There's nothing better than marriage on Valentine's Day. Reader Joyce Kulp, of Lansdale, shared a love story, but it wasn't her own. This love story was of her parents, Leo (Sonny) and Dee Szymanski, of Lansdale. "My parents are celebrating 60 years of marriage today!" Kulp said. "They are the best two parents and grandparents in the whole, wide world." Kulp said Sonny and Dee met in Ford City, Pa., located an hour outside Pittsburgh. "That was 60-plus years ago," she said. An emergency led to love. Grand View Hospital patient transporter Cory had no children before he met Kendra. Now, he is raising five with another on the way. "Me and Cory met at Grand View Hospital, where he works as a transport in the hospital," said Kendra. "I came in to the ER for bad back pain. They wanted to keep me, so Cory took me up to my room." The next day, Cory took Kendra downstairs for tests and he made sure he took her back to her room. "I was sent home, and I still didn't have his number. So, I went back to the hospital to find him and give him my number," she said. "We have been together four years now." Cory and Kendra have a beautiful daughter together, she said. Lansdale's Christina Eckhart and her beau Jeremy's relationship is one that came full circle. "Jeremy and I dated about 10 years ago for a short time, after meeting through a mutual, very good friend of both of ours," Christina said. "In our early 20s, we were both free spirits and went our separate ways." In that 10-year period, Christina and Jeremy crossed paths again only once at a karaoke party. "We married other people, got divorced, and ran into one another at a party in July 2011," Christina said. "The same mutual friend invited us both, knowing we'd probably like to see each other again." That friend was right — the two have been dating every since and are very much in love.
