For the third time, a preliminary hearing for accused attempted murderer Karim Walker, 20, of the 5000 block of Boudinot Street, Philadelphia, was continued in Lansdale District Court Thursday morning. Court officials said Walker's attorney, Douglas Dolfman, requested the continuance. The new preliminary hearing date is May 7 at 2 p.m. A hearing was continued last month due to witnesses failing to appear to testify on the Easter Sunday shooting near Ridge and East Main streets in Lansdale. Glendon Fenty, 52, of the 6400 block of Clearview Street, has a felony warrant for his arrest for allegedly facilitating the pick-up and transport of marijuana from Arizona to Lansdale in 2011, police said.
A Philadelphia man is wanted for allegedly facilitating the pickup and transport of 203 pounds of marijuana from Arizona to Philadelphia. Lansdale Police have issued a felony warrant for and, along with the Montgomery County District Attorney, are seeking the whereabouts of Glendon Fenty, 52, of the 6400 block of Clearview Street. Fenty allegedly fled in a silver Toyota Tacoma pickup truck from the scene of a September 28, 2011 bust in Lansdale behind The Pavilion shopping center, police said. Richard Lee Stroud, 20, of a third floor apartment on the 600 block of North 43rd Street, faces charges of felony robbery with immediate serious bodily injury, felony robbery with taking property by force, simple assault, reckless endangerment, harassment, felony theft, felony receiving stolen property, felony criminal use of a cell phone, possessing an instrument of crime, and felony use or possession of an electric or electronic incapacitation device, police said. A 25-year-old Lansdale man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly sold cocaine to undercover police in the bathroom of a local bar. Michael Jerome Aye is charged with felony possession with intent to distribute, felony distribution and sales of a non-controlled substance as a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to us drug paraphernalia and receipt in commerce. After a nearly three-year investigation, Lansdale Police and Towamencin Township Police have arrested and charged two sisters for allegedly dealing Oxycodone and Percocet from their Berwick Place home in Chatham Village in Towamencin. Darrina Slocum, 34, and Ebony Slocum, 32, of the 100 block of Berwick Place, face numerous felony drug dealing charges stemming from a November 2012 incident, police said. Darrina Slocum is free on $10,000 unsecured bail, set by District Judge Harold Borek, according to court records. Darrina has a preliminary hearing March 14 at 1:15 p.m. in Lansdale. A Philadelphia man pulled over by Towamencin Township Police for a busted headlight was found to have a loaded, concealed .22-caliber revolver in his jacket pocket and was not licensed to carry a concealed firearm. Gerald Samuel Gethers III, 22, of the 700 block of Rhawn Street, was also charged with DUI and driving with a suspended license, police said. Gethers’ vehicle was stopped on Jan. 20 at 1 a.m. on the 1600 block of Valley Forge Road after officers spotted the vehicle on Sumneytown Pike with an inoperative passenger side headlight, police said. Gethers was found to be allegedly in possession of a loaded .22-caliber revolver in his jacket pocket, police said. Gethers does not have a license to carry a concealed weapon, police said. …

Marguerite Burke Miller is a cancer survivor three times over. Her battle is back again, in the form of Stage 4 ovarian cancer. Miller, an Archbishop Ryan alumnus and a mother of two living in Fort Myers, FL, has also been on dialysis ever since the chemotherapy damaged her kidneys. Miller is the cousin of Upper Gwynedd resident Joe Swaim, of Mifflin Drive. He and his wife Janet, along with Gina Burke Kuzemka of Somers Point, NJ, have organized a beef and beer benefit for Miller on Jan. 18 at The Waterfall Room by P&P Catering, 2791 Southampton Road, Philadelphia from 8 p.m. to midnight.
