Walsh, McDonnell Named Chair, Vice Chair of Montgomery Township

At Monday's reorganization meeting in Montgomery Township, a new chairman and vice chairman were appointed. Supervisors also appointed and swore in new officials and emergency personnel

During a reorganization meeting Monday night, Montgomery Township Board of Supervisors unanimously appointed Joe Walsh as the new chairman of the board for 2013, and Jeff McDonnell as vice chairman, according to an article by Dan Sokil in The Reporter. Walsh presented outgoing chairwoman Candyce Chimera with a plaque and thanked her for the “wonderful job in 2012.” He touted her “It’s Finally Done Fun Run” on the 202 Parkway as her biggest accomplishment, according to the article. Walsh and McDonnell enter 2013 with a priority to lead the township toward the groundbreaking of a future community center, the article states. Birch named Montgomery Township supervisors chairman

Candyce Chimera named vice chair at reorganization meeting

There's a new boss on the board of supervisors. Robert Birch was elected chairman of the Montgomery Township Board of Supervisors Monday night at the reorganization meeting. He replaces supervisor Joe Walsh, who served for a year as chairman. Candyce Chimera, who was elected supervisor in November 2009, was elected vice chairwoman of the board of supervisors. She replaces former vice chairman Michael Fox. Birch was elected unanimously by the board, with a motion made by Walsh, and seconded by Chimera. "Have fun, Bob.
