Palm Print Found at Burglarized Montgomery Home Leads to Conviction

A palm print found on a sliding door of a burglarized Montgomery Township home was all investigators needed to lead them to Raymond Diaz, 23, of Philadelphia. Diaz, of the 4700 block of Melrose Street, was given a nine- to 23-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to felony burglary of a home on the 100 block of Hopkins Court, according to Peg Gibbons of The Intelligencer. The burglary occurred on July 23, 2012, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., according to court records. Montgomery Township Police matched a palm print from the home to Diaz’s palm print, according to the article. Investigators speculate Diaz pressed his hand against the glass of a sliding door to test its strength, and then pried the screen from a partially-open rear window…
