Towamencin Man Imprisoned on Assault Charges

James Carr Heath Jr., 43, of Allentown Road, was arraigned Dec. 5 on assault and false imprisonment charges after a woman reported he allegedly assaulted her during an argument at their home

A Towamencin man remains in prison on charges that he allegedly assaulted a woman at her home on Allentown Road on December 5, and allegedly prevented her from leaving the home for her safety. James Carr Heath Jr., 43, of the 1300 block of Allentown Road, was arrested and charged with two misdemeanor counts of simple assault, false imprisonment and two counts of harassment, according to court records. Heath was arraigned December 5 before District Judge Harold Borek, who set bail at $25,000 cash, according to court records. A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 13 at 1:15 p.m. in Lansdale. A Towamencin man turned himself into police, and another resident remains at large, on charges of felony insurance fraud in the township. Ian Jared Crotzer, 30, of the 100 block of Monroe Drive, Towamencin, in the Towamencin Condominiums development, turned himself into Towamencin Township Police on November 29, police said. Sterling Dustin Hall Jr., 33, aka Dawson Mullin, is wanted by police and his current whereabouts are unknown, police said. Hall Jr. had a last known address of the 1000 block of Winfield Court in Morgandale in Towamencin. Hall pleaded guilty to and was convicted of statutory rape at age 21 in June 2001, from an incident that occurred in October 2000 in Towamencin, according to court records. He was sentenced to a …

Felony Burglary Charges Withdrawn Against Morgan Log House Suspects

Heather Spotts, Kevin Himes and Matt Copenhaver now face misdemeanor charges in connection with a burglary allegedly committed by the trio at the historic Towamencin Township-owned property

Heather Spotts, 19;  Kevin Himes, 22; and Matt Copenhaver, 21, walked into Lansdale district court Tuesday facing felony charges of burglary — and walked out with the charges withdrawn. Felony charges of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and criminal trespass were withdrawn by Towamencin Township Police at stipulated preliminary hearings Tuesday for the trio. Misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and loitering/prowling remained against all three. A misdemeanor charge of defiant trepass, however, was added against all three, according to court records. Bail for Himes and Copenhaver was reduced from $50,000 cash to $5,000 unsecured. They were released following the stipulated hearings Wednesday. Spotts was released on $50,000 …

North Penn PAL Holds Successful Kickoff Event

The new Police Athletic League got some parents and teens to commit to being a part of the partnership between law enforcement and the community Saturday at Montgomery Mall

It's once in a blue moon that shoppers will witness an Upper Gwynedd Township Police motorcycle making laps inside the Montgomery Mall. When Officer Fred Lynch briefly wailed the siren, it turned some heads. He greeted shoppers as he drove by, and then said hello to him on his return lap. Lynch then parked the cycle outside the lower level of JC Penney's; before long, children and teens were taking a seat on the cycle themselves, blaring the horn and causing more to turn their heads. Often, those people would see what all the noise was about — and leave with their child signed up for free as a new member of the nonprofit North Penn Police Athletic League. $42,000 Car Stolen from Towamencin Condos

The auto theft occurred in the overnight hours of Nov. 7 to Nov. 8 on the 100 block of Monroe Drive in Towamencin

A black Infiniti G-37 IPL 2-door, valued at $42,000, was stolen during the overnight hours of Nov. 7 to Nov. 8 from Towamencin Condonimiums, police said. Towamencin Township Police are investigating the theft, which occurred on the 100 block of Monroe Drive, police said. The Infiniti was parked in a stall directly in front of the owner’s residence at 11:10 p.m. Nov. 7, police said. At 7 a.m., Nov. 8, the vehicle was gone. There was no broken glass or signs of forced entry observed on scene, police said. Call Towamencin Police at 215-368-7606 with any information on this theft.

Laptop, Sunglasses Stolen from Two Unlocked Cars

Towamencin Township Police are investigating the theft of items from two vehicles parked on the unit block of Old Dutch Road over the weekend

A Sony Vaio laptop, Oakley sunglasses and a leather change purse were stolen from two unlocked vehicles parked on the unit block of Old Dutch Road during the overnight of November 2 to November 3. Towamencin Township Police said both vehicles were parked in front of a home. A resident heard a car door being closed and a vehicle driving off from in front of the home at around 2:45 a.m., police said. The total value of all items taken is estimated at $1,040. Three Nabbed in Morgan Log House Burglary

Matthew Copenhaver, 21; Kevin Himes, 22; and Heather Spotts, 19 were arrested and charged with allegedly burglarizing the historic Towamencin property and resisting arrest

Two men and a teenage girl were arrested by Towamencin Police for allegedly burgarlizing Morgan Log House on Weikel Road. The three following residents were charged with felony burglary, felony criminal conspiracy, felony criminal trespass — breaking into a structure, loitering and resisting arrest: All three were arraigned Nov. 3 before District Judge Maurice Saylor of Gilbertsville and each were taken to Montgomery County prison in lieu of $50,000 cash bail, according to court records. All three remain incarcerated at Montgomery County prison, according to prison records. A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 13 at 11 a.m. before District Judge Harold Borek in Lansdale. Hearing Continued for Telford Woman Accused of Heroin Use

An alleged heroin user from Reliance Place in Telford had her preliminary hearing continued for felony drug charges Tuesday afternoon at District Judge Harold Borek's court. Dianna Laird, 33, allegedly admitted to Towamencin Police to using heroin in June in the bathroom of Towamencin Wawa, along with her friend, Stephanie Teufel, of Reliance Court in Telford. The continuance was granted without a public defender present for Laird. She appeared at district court Tuesday afternoon, claiming she spoke with her public defender, who told her to come into court herself and ask for the continuance. A Telford woman who was arrested at a Towamencin Wawa with heroin in her possession waived her preliminary hearing at the court of District Judge Harold Borek Tuesday morning, and heads to Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas on three felony charges. Stephanie Teufel, 23, of the unit block of Reliance Court, declined comment to a reporter from The Reporter following her hearing. Teufel was arrested by Towamencin Police June 30 at around 5:17 p.m., along with Dianna Laird, 33, of the 100 block of Reliance Place, Telford. Laird failed to appear at her preliminary hearing in July in Skippack and a bench warrant was issued for her arrest.
