Norristown Man Allegedly Causes $5,000 in Damage at Wawa

William James Morris, 27, of Fornance Street, allegedly flipped out inside the Wawa at Forty Foot and Welsh roads in Towamencin, causing $5,000 in damage

A Norristown man was arrested and charged by Towamencin Township Police Oct. 26 after allegedly causing a disturbance at Wawa at 1401 Forty Foot Road. William James Morris, 27, of the 300 block of Fornance Street, is charged with criminal mischief, terroristic threats, public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana, police said. Wawa employees told police that Morris allegedly began acting in an erratic manner inside the store and attempted to go behind the deli counter, police said. When confronted by the manager, Morris allegedly began yelling profanity, jumping up and down and flailing his arms in the air, police said. Towamencin Police Receives State Accreditation

The department overhauled its policy manual to meet 114 areas of the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association Accreditation Program. It is the 83rd out of more than 1,200 state departments to complete the program

Give Towamencin Township Police some accredit — it’s worked hard for this elite status. Last Wednesday, Towamencin Township Police was honored for completion of the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association’s Accreditation Program. According to Bradley Schlegel of The Reporter, Towamencin is the 83rd out of more than 1,200 departments in the state to complete the accreditation process. According to Towamencin Township Police Chief Tim Dickinson in The Reporter article, the department spent six years perfecting requirements in 114 areas, including management, evidence control, fiscal management, officer training and communications. Towamencin Man Faces DUI Charges for Allegedly Driving Drunk to Police Station

A Towamencin man allegedly drove drunk to his probation hearing at Towamencin Police Department in April and now faces two charges of driving under the influence at Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas in November. Albert Jerome Fracas, 52, of the 100 block of Ardwick Terrace, Towamencin, had charges held over following a preliminary hearing before District Judge Harold Borek on Tuesday, according to Dan Sokil of The Reporter. Fracas remains incarcerated at Bucks County Correctional Facility. Fracas appeared at the Towamencin Police headquarters on April 30 for a probation hearing, but a county probation officer informed police a man had checked in for the hearing intoxicated, according to the article. Gun Stolen from Car Parked at Towamencin Wawa

Police said the .38-caliber handgun was stolen between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. August 17, but was reported to police on August 25

A black Taurus .38-caliber revolver was stolen from a black Chrysler 300 sedan that was parked at Wawa, 200 Forty Foot Road, Towamencin, on August 17, Towamencin Township Police said.  The theft was not reported to police until 2 p.m. August 25, however.  The owner of the gun reported he was initially unsure of the location of the firearm and checked other spots to confirm it was actually stolen from his vehicle, police said. The owner did not know if the car was unlocked during the time of the theft, police said. No forced entry was reported. The gun was taken on August 17 at some point between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m., police said. Call Towamencin Police at 215-368-7606 with any information on the theft.

Police Seeking Suspect in Towamencin Burglary

The suspect in the daytime burglary of a home on Liberty Bell Drive is described as a black male wearing a white hoodie

Towamencin Township Police are investigating the burglary of a home on the 1500 block of Liberty Bell Drive on August 23 at 1:40 p.m. The suspect is described as a black male, with a medium to heavyset build, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, police said. The suspect's vehicle is described as a gray or tan-colored, older-model Lincoln or Mercury with two-tone painted or landau-styled roof, police said. A similar vehicle and suspect was described in a Friday morning breaking and entering incident at 921 Patriot Drive in Upper Gwynedd. A connection to the two burglaries has not been confirmed. Screen Door Cut, Window Screens Moved on Anders Road Home

Towamencin Township Police investigated an instance of criminal mischief, in which it appeared someone tried to determine if a window or door was unlocked on a home on the 1000 block of Anders Road

Towamencin Township Police said four window screens were moved to the open position and a screen on a rear screen door was cut on a residence in the 1000 block of Anders Road between August 11 and August 18. The homeowner reported the criminal mischief and possible attempted entry to police upon his return to his home, police said. Police said it appeared someone was attempting to ascertain if a window or door were left unlocked. All windows and doors were locked and no entry was gained into the home, police said. Police urge residents to lock windows and doors to prevent entries into their homes. Police also urge residents to report any suspicious activities around their homes or neighborhoods. Three Arrested on Heroin, Pot Charges at Holiday Inn

Towamencin Police found one arrestee allegedly concealing himself in a car in a secluded area of the parking lot, which led them to a room at the hotel where two other arrestees were found. A search of a second car revealed 405 bags of suspected heroin

Two men and one woman were arrested by Towamencin Township Police August 18 and charged with various drug law violations following investigations into incidents at Holiday Inn on Sumneytown Pike on August 17. Charged were: At 4:10 p.m. August 17, Towamencin Police were on patrol in a marked patrol vehicle at Holiday Inn, 1750 Sumneytown Pike, and saw a vehicle parked in a secluded area of the property, police said. As the vehicle passed, two occupants in the vehicle - later identified as Gottlieb and a female passenger - allegedly attempted to conceal themselves from the officer, police said. Copper Wire Stolen from Transformer at Main St. Apartments

Copper grounding wire valued at $200 was stolen from the transformer after someone cut a hole in the fence between August 2010 and August 2012

Someone cut a hole in the chainlink fence surrouding a transformer at Main Street Apartments and stole $200 worth of copper grounding wire, Towamencin Township Police said. Police said four sections of grounding wire were taken between August 1, 2010 - two years ago - and August 8, 2012. The transformer was the main transformer at the apartment site at 1158 W. Main St., police said. August 1, 2010 was the last service work date on the transformer. The theft was discovered by an electrical contractor performing routine maintenance, police said.

A Beverage Air brand stainless steel refrigerator, valued at $1,500, was stolen from outside Carlos Pizza, 1401 Forty Foot Road in Towamencin, police said. The theft occurred between August 7 and August 9, police said. The fridge weighs about 300 pounds and was wrapped in green plastic, police said. Lansdale Man Nabbed for Criminal Trespassing

Towamencin Township Police arrested Iqbal Hossain for allegedly trespassing on a property in Dock Village and ripping out a rear sliding door

Iqbal Hossain, 20, of the 500 block of Poplar Street, Lansdale, has been arrested and charged by Towamencin Township Police with criminal trespass and additional charges after allegedly attempting to break into a home in Dock Village, located off Detwiler Road. Police said Hossain was prohibited from being on the property. Hossain is charged with criminal trespass, defiant trespass, harassment, driving a vehicle with a suspended license, driving without insurance and driving an uninspected vehicle, police said. On June 28 at 5:15 p.m., police responded to a home on the 100 block of Community Drive. The victim and resident informed police that Hossain, who had been prohibited from the property, was now on the property, police said. The …
