Trooper Barry Searfoss, of Coatesville, was off-duty when his pickup truck struck the rear of a 1997 Lincoln Town Car on Friday night. He was later taken into custody and processed for DUI.
This article is being published due to interest from Montgomeryville-Lansdale Patch readers. According to a report by NBC10, a Pennsylvania State Trooper has been placed on restricted duty following his involvement in Friday night's fatal accident along the westbound lanes of the turnpike in Upper Dublin. The report states that Trooper Barry Searfoss, of Coatesville, was off-duty when his pickup truck struck the rear of a 1997 Lincoln Town Car, which was occupied by 21-year-old Robyn Williams, of North Philadelphia. The impact of the collision caused the Lincoln to burst into flames, and an autopsy would later reveal that Williams died from multiple blunt-force injuries, thermal burns and smoke inhalation, according to an article by …

Pennsylvania State Police said two people were killed shortly before 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon in a crash on the northbound lanes of Route 309 between East Valley Green Road and Camp Hill Road at the eastern edge of Whitemarsh Township. Route 309 was closed northbound just before the Paper Mill Road interchange from shortly after the crash until about 6:30 p.m. Breaking News Network, a service that monitors emergency radio transmissions, reported to Lansdale Patch that the victims were pushing a disabled vehicle on the roadway when they were struck from behind by another vehicle. It was not immediately clear whether the disabled vehicle was in the middle of the roadway or on the shoulder. WCAU-TV cited an unidentified police source who …

Christopher Kaighn was injured while riding a motorcycle in Upper Dublin
Christopher Kaighn, of North Wales, slid about 350 feet after he crashed his motorcycle in an accident on May 10 on Welsh Road in Upper Dublin Township, police said. Kaighn was driving a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Welsh Road, police said, when he hit the back of another vehicle that turned in front of him. Daniel Ebert, of Philadelphia, was westbound on Welsh Road in the left lane. He began to turn left, when Kaighn hit the back of his vehicle, police said. Ebert told police he did not see the second vehicle and had no idea how fast the vehicle was going. A witness who was eastbound on Welsh Road told police that Kaighn began tailgating her vehicle, so she moved to the left lane, police said. Kaighn then took off and the witness went …

Yesterday was cool and today will be slightly warmer, but this weekend will yet again bring us cold and damp conditions
It is hard to believe that March is coming to an end already. The days are just flying by faster and faster. If you have any plans for outside festivities this weekend, I would suggest bringing a coat and an umbrella because it will be cold and dreary for the majority of Saturday and Sunday. This morning was yet again freezing with temperatures in the mid 30s. As the afternoon rolls around, partly cloudy skies will allow it to feel pleasantly comfortable with temperatures rising into the mid- to upper-50s. Clouds will start to increase by the late afternoon rush hour as a disturbance from the west creeps in. Rain is not expected to arrive until around midnight, if not later. Temperatures will fall into the low 40s with a southeasternly …

The sun will try its best to poke through the clouds today, but more rain is expected to put a damper on any plans for the weekend
March did not really come marching in, but it it's definitely leaving some muddy bootprints. Even though it's the second day of the month, the sun seems shy as it hides behind the clouds. My spring break from college starts today, and this is not what I want to see; my hopes are high for a potentially beautiful pattern next week. Today will start out in the upper 30s with mostly cloudy skies. The sun will try its best to come out in the afternoon, which can bring the high temperatures to the low 50s. If the sun is too shy to come out, the temperatures may not reach the 50 degree mark. By the afternoon commute, clouds will quickly take over and thicken as a storm system approaches from the southwest. Before I carry on, if you plan on …

Phillies pitching continues to dominate as the Flyers and Sixers playoff hopes come back from the dead
Resurrection was the theme on Sunday, as both the Flyers and Sixers gained new life in their respective playoff series. In this week’s edition of Phour for Phour, we’ll take an in-depth look at a rollercoaster week of Philadelphia sports, as well as give one lucky reader a free pair of Phillies tickets. The Good - Ville-delphia! After back to back losses to the Sabres, one of which was a heartbreaking overtime loss, the Flyers found themselves facing elimination on Sunday in Buffalo. After the first period, Philadelphia was staring down a two goal deficit, which subsequently led to yet another change at the …

For the Patch and Aol Give 5 Day, eight Patchers from Montgomery County volunteered and cleaned up nearly a ton of trash from the Cross County Trail.
What does it say about us as a people in this ecosystem when nearly a ton of trash is collected from either side of a two-mile trail? It says there’s a whole hell of a lot more to go. For the volunteer Give 5 program of Patch and Aol, seven local editors of Patch sites of Eastern Pennsylvania One-Regional One spent seven hours Thursday discarding trash from the Cross County Trail. In the end, we collected 34 bags of trash, each weighing about 50 pounds. That is 1,700 pounds—more than three-quarters of a ton—of trash. In seven hours. In just two miles. “I think it is really impressive that our company, Aol, gives us the work hours to do volunteering like this,” said Melissa Treacy, regional editor for Montgomery County Patch sites. “It is …

A young man toys with the idea of a relationship with a married woman, and one girlfriend questions the risk of moving away with the boyfriend her family doesn't accept.
Dear Lizzie, I am 29 and I live by myself in an apartment building. There’s a married woman that frequents the bar I go to often. We flirt whenever we are out. She doesn’t live in the area; she has a girlfriend that does live around my area, and they have a “Girls Night Out.” That is how we met. This woman has a young daughter, and her husband works during the day. She is gorgeous, and I love being around her. I don’t think her husband has any idea of our flirtations, but she told me she would cheat on her husband. This is very tempting. What do you think? – Lucky Man, Upper Dublin Dear Lucky, There’s no luck here! No way is this going to turn out in a positive situation. She’s married and that comes with a big sign: Hands Off. Maybe she’s…
