If you know of a red Vovlo with windshield and hood damage, then it is suggested you contact Lansdale Police — as it's the make of vehicle in Friday evening's hit-and-run in Lansdale. For the third time since March, a pedestrian was hit at Second Street and North Broad Street in the borough. At around 6 p.m. Friday, a 40-year-old man from Franklin Street in Lansdale was crossing North Broad Street east from Second Street, when he was hit by a red Volvo in the yellow dividing lines, police said. The car was south on Broad Street, police said. Witnesses told police the Volvo failed to stop after hitting the pedestrian, and continued on Broad Street. The Reporter in Lansdale reports a pedestrian was struck by a car around 6 p.m. Friday at Second and North Broad streets. A man was seen strapped to a gurney and was transported by Volunteer Medical Service Corps, according to reports and reader accounts. This is the third such incident at that intersection since March. In November, an eighth grader ran into a North Penn School District bus with his bike. A 5-year-old boy was hit by a car at the intersection in March. Stay tuned for further updates.

Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale wants you to help Phil-a-Boat for Philabundance. VMSC is reaching out to the community to help feed hungry neighbors in the Delaware Valley. It plan — to load up donations onto its new 14-foot Achilles inflatable rescue boat and tow it, along with an entourage of emergency vehicles, to the Metroplex in Plymouth Meeting, where the donations will be given to Preston & Steve's "Camp Out for Hunger." The "Camp Out for Hunger" event runs through Friday, Nov. 30, with proceeds going to Philabundance. North Penn Life reports two women were injured in a Wednesday afternoon three-vehicle crash at Stump and Horsham roads. Around 12:45 p.m., a gold Chevrolet Blazer that was west on Horsham Road rear-ended a white Hyundai Sonata, which was pushed into a white Dodge Dakota pickup truck, according to the article. The driver of the Blazer failed to slow down for slow-moving traffic on Horsham Road, according to reports. The passenger of the Hyundai had to be rescued from the vehicle, according to reports. The passenger and the driver of the Hyundai were injured and taken by Volunteer Medical Service Corps to Abington Memorial Hospital, according to the article. Route 309 is closed in both directions in Hatfield. The driver of a utility truck hit a utility pole, causing PPL wires to fall across the road
The driver of a utility truck was injured in an accident on Route 309 near Hilltown Pike Tuesday afternoon in Hatfield Township after crashing into a utility pole. PPL is currently at the scene to address power lines that came down after the accident onto the vehicle, according to reports. The driver was kept inside the truck until PPL disconnected power. Route 309 is closed in both directions between Orvilla Road and Hilltown Pike as of 4:25 p.m. Tuesday. UPDATE FRIDAY, 7:02 P.M. A 15-year-old boy was horsing around with another friend at Fourth Street Park in Lansdale over a skateboard, when he ran face-first into a bush, suffering significant facial trauma, according to Volunteer Medical Service Corps Battalion Chief Jonathan Detweiler. Detweiler said the boy was airlifted via PennStar to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia with non-life-threatening injuries. UPDATE FRIDAY, SEPT. 14, 6:45 P.M. There are reports that the subject was a child who was playing tag in Fourth Street Park, ran into a bush and a branch impaled into his face. A 29-year-old white male skateboarder attempted to hoist himself up on the eastside platform, when he was hit and drug under the train. Police said he was conscious and alert and injuries were not life threatening
UPDATE 7:00 p.m. Police said a 29-year-old man was injured while crossing the tracks in front of an inbound SEPTA train on the eastside platform. Witnesses reported the man scaled a fence separating the SEPTA property along Walnut Street and began walking in a perpendicular direction toward the tracks, police said. The conducter sounded the train's horn, but the male never stopped walking, police said. The conducter attempted an emergency stop, police said. A man was pulled unconscious, but breathing, from a pool at the North Penn YMCA in Lansdale Saturday afternoon. At around 4:30 p.m., reports came in for a trauma patient with the need for a helicopter for medical transport. The patient was flown via PennStar, which landed at Penndale Middle School, and transported the man to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. According to Dan Sokil of The Reporter, a man in his 20s was pulled from the pool, and was resusciated by lifeguards and medics with Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale. A 13-year-old boy from Upper Gwynedd was flown by PennStar for treatment to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children after being severely injured in an electrical mishap in his bedroom Thursday night. Upper Gwynedd Fire Co. responded to a fire investigation call at 11:30 p.m. at 988 Sumneytown Pike Apt. 6, according to Upper Gwynedd Fire Chief John Scheiter. The apartment is located above a barber shop. "It was initially dispatched as an investigation. Further information given was that there had been a fire as well. That wasn't the case," Scheiter said. In a story reported exclusively by Montgomeryville-Lansdale Patch Sunday evening, a missing elderly man from Dock Woods in Towamencin, Robert Cuthbertson Sr., 78, was found around 2:13 a.m. on the southbound side of the Northeast Extension, a mile north of the Lansdale interchange. Towamencin Police Chief Tim Dickinson said Cuthbertson Sr. became disoriented and lost. "He left his house for a walk on his own," Dickinson said. "Apparently, he had medical issues. Nobody could locate him."
