Storms loom for late Friday and Saturday morning, but the sun should come out on Sunday.
The weekend starts on a soggy note, as a cool front approaches the region on Friday afternoon. This front will take the better part of Friday night into Saturday to pass through the area and head off the coast. Saturday’s weather is not shaping up as the most ideal (especially early in the day across New Jersey), but should gradually improve as we work into the afternoon, thanks to dry air advancing east in the wake of the front. Rainfall could be heavy at times Friday night and early Saturday, with the potential for a couple of inches of rain in some locations. Showers and storms could be around early Saturday along the coastline, perhaps lingering into the afternoon hours. It may take until late Saturday afternoon for decent weather to …

It'll be hot and muggy both days.
With four people struck by lightning in Wildwood on Wednesday afternoon, the ever-friendly reminder needs to go out about lightning safety. "If thunder roars, head indoors." If you hear thunder or see a flash of lightning, it means the possibility exists for a lightning strike that's too close for comfort. If you're at the beach, the best way to avoid being struck by lightning is to be inside a fully enclosed building or your car. Avoid staying under an umbrella (it has metal in it) or in an open shelter. Avoid open water, since salt water is an excellent conductor of electricity. Lightning strikes kill more people annually in the United States than tornadoes or hurricanes typically do. It's better to not be a statistic and best to be …

Seasonal temps return as rain departs; beautiful Sunday on tap
After a soaking of rain around the region today, an improving weekend of weather is ahead for the Shore and Beach towns. Saturday isn't going to start incredibly nice as there will be clouds and perhaps a lingering round of showers early in the day. However, weather will improve as the day progresses and as the mid level disturbance that brought today's soaking pulls away. Expect gradual clearing and some sunshine later in the day at the Shore and in Delaware. Sunday will feature a really nice day as sunshine, mixed with some clouds, rules the roost. Sunday may end up being the nicest day over the next week as another frontal boundary approaches on Monday and lingers over the area for a fair chunk of the week. Highs on Saturday will…

It hasn't been that nice out lately, and will continue on for the weekend
April has seen it all: whether it's 85 degrees or 30 degrees or maybe some rain or maybe some snow. Lately, there has been some settlement in the weather, but it is still kind of scattered in some sense. For the next couple of days, expect to see some sun, clouds, rain and possibly some snow mixed in for the more northern areas in our region. Today will most likely be the nicest out of them all with mostly sunny skies and high temperatures peaking in the mid-50s. It will also be fairly windy for the majority of the day with northwest winds at 12 to 18 mph. As for tonight, mostly clear skies will persist along with diminished winds. The calm winds and clear sky will make the low temperatures plumet into the mid-30s by midnight. If you're a …

Yesterday was cool and today will be slightly warmer, but this weekend will yet again bring us cold and damp conditions
It is hard to believe that March is coming to an end already. The days are just flying by faster and faster. If you have any plans for outside festivities this weekend, I would suggest bringing a coat and an umbrella because it will be cold and dreary for the majority of Saturday and Sunday. This morning was yet again freezing with temperatures in the mid 30s. As the afternoon rolls around, partly cloudy skies will allow it to feel pleasantly comfortable with temperatures rising into the mid- to upper-50s. Clouds will start to increase by the late afternoon rush hour as a disturbance from the west creeps in. Rain is not expected to arrive until around midnight, if not later. Temperatures will fall into the low 40s with a southeasternly …
