Two Injured in Afternoon Crash on Welsh Road

The crash occurred shortly after 4 p.m., when a white Acura SUV carrying two adults and three children collided with a gold sedan driven by an elderly man.

Two people were injured following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Welsh Road and Oak Park Boulevard on Friday afternoon.

The crash occurred shortly after 4 p.m., when a white Acura SUV carrying two adults and three children collided with a gold sedan driven by an elderly man. An adult woman and a teen female passenger were taken from the scene via ambulance, and a young boy – who was otherwise uninjured – needed to be freed from his car seat by emergency personnel.

Traffic was backed up in both directions on Welsh Road for nearly an hour, as crews worked to remove the vehicles and clear debris from the intersection. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
