Upper Gwynedd, Montgomery, North Wales, Hatfield Election Results

Commissioners and supervisors retain in Upper Gwynedd, Montgomery and Hatfield townships.

In Upper Gwynedd, Montgomery and Hatfield townships, commissioners and supervisors up for re-election retained their respective seats.

Montgomery Township

Incumbent Republicans Mike Fox and Jeff McDonnell will return to the board of supervisors following Tuesday's election. Fox and McDonnell garnered 1,821 and 2,854 votes, respectively, according to Montgomery County election results.
Democratic challenger Bev Dodds received 1,312 votes.
Incumbent Republican tax collector Patricia Gallagher retains her position, defeating Democrat Gary Zitin with 2,030 votes.

Upper Gwynedd Township

Upper Gwynedd Republicans Clare Edelmayer and Gene Ziemba were unofficially victorious over their Democratic challengers Joe Morris and Robert Wilkinson, per Montgomery County election results.
Edelmayer and Ziemba received 1,671 and 1,579 votes, respectively. Morris and Wilkinson received 1,212 and 1,209 votes, respectively.
Incumbent tax collector Jane Murray retained her position with an unofficial win over Democratic challenger and former Montgomery County Commissioner Ruth Damsker, per county results.
Murray received 1,777 votes over Damsker's 1,137 votes.

Hatfield Township

Hatfield Township Commissioners President Tom Zipfel, a Republican, was unofficially victorious in the Ward Four race over Democratic challenger Mark Baskin. Per county results, Baskin received 155 votes in the ward to Zipfel's 416 votes.
In Ward Two, Republican Robert Rodgers is the new commissioner, taking over outgoing Commissioner John Thinnes' spot. Rodgers unofficially received 272 votes over Democrat Marvin Morris' 130 votes.

North Wales Borough

The two open seats in Ward Two in North Wales Borough will be filled by incumbent Democrat Mark Tarlecki and newcomer Democrat Jim Sando. Tarlecki and Sando each received 133 votes, per county election results. 
Republican challenger David Arnold received 100 votes.
Incumbent Democrat Sally Niderheiser will retain her seat in Ward Three, and will be joined by newcomer Republican James Cherry. Niderheiser and Cherry unofficially received 171 and 183 votes, respectively.
Democrat Salvatore Amato received 153 votes in the Ward Three race.

Hatfield Borough

Incumbent Republicans John Weierman, John Krosser and Larry Stevens retained their seats in the election. They were challenged by Democrats Mina Agauiby, MD Nazmul Hossain and Abu Nasser. 
Weierman, Krosser and Stevens unofficially received 373, 381 and 379 votes, respectively. Agauiby, Hossain and Nasser received 144, 137 and 140 votes, respectively.
Incumbent Mayor Robert Kaler III retained his position with 390 votes over Democratic challenger Shabbir Ahammed's 135 votes, per Montgomery County election results.
Incumbent Republican tax collector Nancy DeFinis received 374 votes over Democrat Ahamed Hossain's 141 votes.
