A Hatfield Township home invasion on Leas Way early Thursday morning has just gone federal.
The Philadelphia bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering a $10,000 reward for the public's help in the arrest and convictions of those responsible for an armed robbery, home invasion and assault of a victim on the 1400 block of Leas Way around 6 a.m. Thursday.
The ATF is jointly investigating with Hatfield Township Police.
“Individuals who pursue a criminal path of armed robberies and home invasions threaten the safety of our communities. ATF is committed to investigating and removing those violent predators from our streets.” said ATF Special Agent Essam Rabadi. “We ask the public to provide any information that would aid investigators in identifying and arresting these violent home invaders responsible for the armed robbery that occurred at the Hatfield Township residence.”
Authorities recovered the victim's stolen BMW station wagon around 5 p.m. on the 7900 block of Cedar Brook Avenue in Philadelphia.
The 2003 BMW 525i, along with several valuables and several firearms, were stolen in the home invasion.
The victim was tied up and beaten, police said.
Minutes earlier, he was accosted by several individuals at gunpoint in his driveway shortly before 6:18 a.m. after he returned  home from the Philadelphia area, police said.
