Where/When: 1340 S. Valley Forge Road, Lansdale; Sept. 24, 4:30 p.m.

Why go: North Penn Marching Knights and Music Aides present the annual Knight of Sound marching band competition at Crawford Stadium, with performances by 11 local high school marching bands. They will march, play and compete for awards in music, choreography and percussion.

Where/When: Downtown Lansdale; Sept. 24, 7 p.m.

Why go: “You know you grew up in the Lansdale Area if you remember… Cruisin’ Lansdale on a Saturday night.” Come relive those days by walking, riding or driving “the strip,” from Frank’s Pizza (formerly Nino’s) on West Main Street, to The Lansdale Pavilion (formerly Drug Emporium) on Broad Street.

Where/When: , 1292 Allentown Road, Lansdale; Sept. 26, 7 p.m.

Why go: Learn Appalachian clogging, percussive dancing to the driving rhythms of old-time music. The event is for teens and adults of all experience levels.

Pricing: $35

Where/When: Montgomery Township Fire Department, 325 Stump Road, North Wales; Sept. 22

Why go: Montgomery County Health Department will send certified car-seat technicians to inspect child safety seats. Learn how to properly install a car seat in your car, and ensure your child is properly restrained in the car seat. Appointments are required by calling 610-278-5119 or emailing carseat@montcopa.org. Include your name, phone number and the number of seats to be checked.

Pricing: Free

 

5.

Where/When: Lehigh Valley Paintball South, 307 Swartley Road, Hatfield; Sept. 23, and every Friday from 4 to 9 p.m.

Why go: There's special savings for kids who want to play paintball. This cannot be combined with other discounts or offers.

Pricing: Kids ages 10 to 17 get half-price general admission
