Police Searching for Delaware Woman Who Kidnapped Daughter

Tara Bertrand, 39, lost custody of her 5-year-old daughter Kiera and was supposed to turn the child over to DFS on Monday. Police believe she may be in Pa.

According to a release issued by Delaware State Police, troopers are seeking the public’s assistance in finding a woman wanted in connection with interfering with the custody of her 5-year old daughter. 

Police believe she may be headed through the Montgomeryville-Lansdale and Montgomery County area.

On Monday April 2, detectives from Troop 4 in Georgetown, Del., assisted the Division of Family Services (DFS) with an investigation involving Tara Bertrand, 39, in reference to the neglect of her child, 5-year-old Kiera Bertrand. DFS was awarded custody of Kiera Bertrand through Family Court in Sussex County. Tara Bertrand did not appear at the hearing, nor did she bring her child to the hearing as requested.

The whereabouts of Bertrand and her daughter are unknown, but there is a possibility the two may be in or traveling to Pennsylvania. Tara Bertrand is wanted for Interfering with the Custody of a Child and Kiera is currently listed as a Missing Child.
