North Penn High Named Top School in the Nation

North Penn High School is one of only 33 schools in Pennsylvania to make the The Washington Post's annual assessment, The High School Challenge.

North Penn High School has been recognized as one of the top high schools in the nation by The Washington Post. North Penn High School is one of only 33 schools in Pennsylvania to make the post’s annual assessment, The High School Challenge.

It is the fourth year in a row the school has made the list.

The rankings are reached by diving the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate or other college-level tests a school gave in 2013 by the number of graduating seniors.

Also noted are the percentage of students who come from families that qualify for lunch subsidies and the percentage of graduates who passed at least one college-level test during their high school career, called equity and excellence. According to the Washington Post website, the rating can reveal the level of a high school’s commitment to preparing students for college.

“With district-level support, North Penn High School’s continued focus on increasing AP enrollment and participation in AP testing continues to pay dividends in the form of national recognition,” said North Penn Principal Burton T. Hynes.

“I am thrilled that the work of our students and staff members has been recognized by The Washington Post for the fourth year in a row. This accolade validates the effort of our students and staff as well as the support of our families as we are once again identified in The High School Challenge as one of American’s outstanding high schools.”

More garbage from Patch. April 26, 2014 at 02:45 AM
Seriously! Am I really reading more deception to get a reader and keep a job? Is it really that difficult to come up with a headline that grabs a readers interest and attention without using false claims? What is this a carnival game, where the customer is lead to beleive that it is easy and once he's caught he sees that its not what is openly displayed. Just like a carny, these editors write misleading headlines to get you to disprove a clearly false statement. Yeah, North Penn named the top school in the nation, right. Give your readers what they want, are you proud to have such an illustrious group of uneducated customers to read your garbage? My guess is that, once out of your delusional thinking, the shame alone will be so overwealming that deep depression will take hold until some real editing tallent finally emerges.
