Holocaust Remembrance Program at Ursinus College Features North Wales Businessman

Ursinus College presents a Holocaust Remembrance Program, “A Survivor Speaks,” on April 8 from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. in Olin Hall, room 107.

Speaker Alex Redner was born in Lvov, Poland, and was 10 years old when Germany invaded Poland on Sept. 1, 1939. By 1941, a ghetto was established with deportation to concentration camps. With his mother, Alex escaped the Lvov ghetto and with the help of Polish friends, hid for 18 months until the region was liberated. He studied engineering in France and started his own company in North Wales, Pa. During his 50-year career, he obtained 10 U.S. patents and wrote more than 60 research papers in the field of optics and mechanics

The program is sponsored by the Ursinus History Department, Hillel, the Office of the Chaplain and Jewish Studies.
