Lansdale Police Bust Man for Alleged Prowling

Ronald Edward Solomon Jr., 30, of Chestnut Street, Lansdale, allegedly fled from police after a report of prowling around a property posted "No Trespassing"

A Lansdale man convicted in Bucks County Court of Common Pleas in 2010 for theft of movable property has been arrested and charged with criminal trespassing and prowling in the borough.

Ronald Edward Solomon Jr., 30, of the 100 block of South Chestnut Street, Lansdale, faces the following charges at his June 27 preliminary hearing at 1:45 p.m. before District Judge Harold Borek:

  • Felony of second-degree of criminal trespass-breaking into a structure
  • Misdemeanor resisting arrest
  • Misdemeanor loitering and prowling at night
  • Misdemeanor possession of an instrument of crime
  • Summary criminal mischief-damage to a property

Solomon was arraigned before Borek who set bail at 10 percent of $10,000, police said. Solomon was taken to Montgomery County Correctional Facility after failing to post bail.

On June 7, at around 1:24 p.m., Lansdale Police were called to the 100 block of Jenkins Avenue on a report from a resident that they had heard glass breaking and observed a suspicious male in the area of a nearby home that was posted "No Trespassing," police said.

Officers spotted a man, later identified as Solomon, in the alley behind the home, police said. Solomon allegedly ran toward Penn Street, police said.

Solmon allegedly attemptd to hide from police and began running again whenever they approached his position, police said.

Police officers chased Solomon through rear yard, who allegedly stopped only after being tackled to the gorund by a police officer, police said.

Once on the ground, Solomon allegedly physically refused to comply with an officer's commands while trying to handcuff him, police said.

Police found tools in Solomon's alleged possession, police said. Tools were also found by a broken window of the home where a resident saw Solomon, police said.

Solomon was charged with numerous theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property charges in June 2009 by Pennridge Regional Police.

He pleaded guilty to one count of misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking in the Bucks Count Court of Common Pleas in May 2010 and was sentenced to one year probation, according to court records.

It's called freedom of speech, Lynn. You may be related to him and know that he has problems, obviously. The fact of the matter is this man was causing trouble. I have zero respect for him. But, yes, if it was a family member of mine, I'd probably be more understanding of them.
