East Hancock Street Closed for Roadwork Starting Monday

East Hancock Street will be closed to eastbound traffic between Church and North Wales roads.

If the traffic detours for the Wood-Vine Connector in Lansdale weren't enough, there's a closure coming on Monday on East Hancock Street until Oct. 25.
Lansdale Borough is working to rectify traffic patterns with Upper Gwynedd Township, the latter of which is refurbishing East Hancock beween Oakland Avenue and Dickerson Road. Oakland Avenue is between Pennbrook Avenue and Maple Street, across from the 11.5-acre Hancock Street Park.
"That will come right down in the borough and cause problems at an intersection that is already a challenge for us," Lansdale Borough Manager Timi Kirchner said. "We will work with crews to ensure we redirect traffic."
Here are the traffic detours:

  • East Hancock Street will be closed to eastbound traffic between Church and North Wales roads
  • Westbound East Hancock Street will remain open within the Lansdale Borough only.

  • Both lanes of travel on East Hancock Street in Upper Gwynedd Township will be closed.

  • Traffic travelling east on East Hancock will be detoured to head north on Church Road to east on Main Street then South on North Wales Road.
Paving of East Hancock Street will take place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
