Lower Salford Man Allegedly Assaults Woman Outside Towamencin Walgreens: Police

A Lower Salford man has been arrested, charged, arraigned and jailed on assault and harassment charges for allegedly attacking a woman outside Walgreens in Towamencin Saturday.
Police said Jonathan Ryan Holnick, 30, of the 700 block of Summit Circle, was taken into custody in the first floor bathroom of Holiday Inn on Sumneytown Pike.
Holnick was charged with simple assault and harassment and arraigned before District Judge Kropp of Pottstown, who set bail at $10,000 cash, police said. Holnick was jailed at Montgomery County prison following his release to Montgomery County Sheriffs on an active probation violation, police said.
On Saturday, at 1:43 p.m., Towamencin Township Police responded to a report of a disturbance at the Walgreens on Forty Foot Road.
A customer told police a man was trying to grab a woman outside of the store, police said. The woman ran into the store crying, police said, and employees locked the doors to the store to prevent the man from getting inside.
The alleged victim told police that she was involved in an argument with the man, identified as Holnick, while inside her vehicle parked in the parking lot of the store, police said.
She attempted to leave the passenger side of the vehicle, but Holnick allegedly grabbed her and would not let her out, police said.
She was eventually able to free herself and get out of the vehicle. She walked towards the entrance to the store, police said, but Holnick exited the vehicle from the driver's side and followed her, catching up with her near the entrance.
Holnick then allegedly grabbed the woman firmly by the arm and across her stomach, police said.
She started to scream and he allegedly moved one of his hands and placed it over her mouth hard enough to cause her to bite down on her lower lip, police said.
The woman suffered a minor abrasion to the inside of her lower lip and redness to her face, police said.
The woman told police she feared for her safety as she struggled to get into the store.
She was able to get directly in front of the door where she was in view of employees and other customers, police said.
She broke free of Holnick's alleged grip and he fled the area, police said.
