SCHOOL BOARD RACE

There are four seats up for grabs on the North Penn School District Board of Directors. 
It is Republicans Vince Sherpinsky, Josie Charnock, Timothy Kerr and Frank O'Donnell versus the Democrats of "Next STEP for North Penn": Alex Ryabin, Murali Balaji, Paul Edelman and Tina Stoll.

UNCONTESTED RACES


A few municipalities have elections Tuesday where candidates are running unopposed for open seats:

Towamencin Township
Incumbent Republican Charles Wilson is seeking re-election to his seat on the board of supervisors. Republican Laura Smith is seeking the second open seat, vacated by Robert Rau.

Republican candidate for tax collector Bob Di Domizio is running unopposed.

MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

Lansdale Borough
Ward One: Two open seats

Incumbent Democrat Mary Fuller is battling to retain her seat on council. Democrat Jeff Howard is seeking the other open seat.

Incumbent Independent Jason Van Dame is battling to retain his seat on council. Van Dame was appointed by a majority council vote last year to fulfill the term of resigning Paul Clemente. 

Republicans Jean Fritz and Michele Coyle are also battling for the two open seats on council.

Ward Two: One open seat

Republican Tom Work, who ousted incumbent Republican Mike Sobel in the Primary, faces off against Democrat Sherry Sikora.

Ward Three: Two open seats

With Council President Matt West not seeking re-election, and with the ousting of incumbent Republican Dan Dunigan in the Primary, two seats are up for grabs in Ward Three. 

Republicans Walter "Cory" Brown III and Pete Schmitt are facing off against Democrats Liz Troy and Leon Angelichio. 

Mayor

Incumbent Republican Mayor Andy Szekely is being challenged in his re-election bid by Democrat Doug DiPasquale, president of the Lansdale Business Association.

Tax Collector

Since Democrat Jim Hanratty won a special election to fulfill the term of deceased former tax collector Robert Di Domizio, his job is now up for grabs. 

Hanratty is seeking re-election, but he is being challenged by former longtime Hatfield Borough tax collector, Republican Christine Calhoun.

Montgomery Township
 
Two open seats 

Incumbent Republicans Mike Fox and Jeff McDonnell are seeking re-election for their seats on the board of supervisors. 
They are being challenged by Democrat Bev Dodds. McDonnell also received the write-in on the Democratic ticket in the Election.

Incumbent tax collector, Republican Patricia Gallagher, is being challenged by Democrat Gary Zitin.

Upper Gwynedd Township
Two open seats

Incumbent Republicans M. Clare Edelmayer and Gene Ziemba will battle Democrats Joe Morris and Robert Wilkinson for their seats on the board of commissioners.

Incumbent tax collector Republican Jane Murray is being challenged by former Montgomery County Democratic Commissioner Ruth Damsker.

Hatfield Township
Ward Two: One open seat
Incumbent Commissioner John Thinnes is not seeking re-election. Republican Robert Rodgers is battling Democrat Marvin Morris.

Ward Four: One open seat
Incumbent Republican and board of commissioners president Tom Zipfel is vying to retain his seat against Democrat Mark Baskin.

Incumbent Republican tax collector Christina Murphy will face Democratic challenger Dottie Miller.

North Wales Borough
Ward One: One open seat
Incumbent Republican and council President Michael McDonald is running unopposed and could retain his seat.

Ward Two: Two open seats
Incumbent Democrat Mark Tarlecki is fighting to keep his seat against Democrat Jim Sando and Republican David Arnold.

Ward Three: Two open seats
Incumbent Democrat Sally Neiderheiser is looking to retain her seat against Democratic challenger Salvatore Amato and Republican James Cherry.

Mayor
Longtime incumbent Democrat Doug Ross is facing off against Republican challenger Gregory D'Angelo.

Tax Collector
Incumbent Democrat Diane Skudlarek is battling Republican Nancy McDonald to retain her position.

Hatfield Borough
Incumbent Republicans John Weierman, Larry Stevens and John Krosser are being challenged by Democrats Mina Agauiby, Abu Nasser and MD Nazmul Hossain.

Mayor
Incumbent Republican Bob Kaler will battle Democratic challenger Shabbir Ahammed for his mayorship.

Tax collector
Incumbent Republican Nancy DeFinis is facing off against Ahamed Hossain for the job.
