Charles P. Reckner, 85, of Towamencin, U.S. Navy Vet

Charles P. Reckner, 85, a Hilltown native, formerly of Towamencin Township, passed away Dec. 12 at Mercy Suburban Hospital, according to The Intelligencer. Reckner had resided at St. Mary Manor in Lansdale.
Reckner served in the U.S. Navy after World War II and prior to the Korean War.
Reckner worked as a machinist at U.S. Gauge in Sellersville, retiring in 1996 after a 30-year career, per his tribute.
Including his wife, Dorothy McGinley Reckner, he is survived by daughters, Helene Coopersmith and her husband, David, of Sellersville; Charlotte DiNenna and her husband, Sal, of Bridgeport; and Loretta Molnar of Lansdale; and his sons, Patrick Reckner and his wife, Carol, of Lansdale; and Paul Reckner and his wife, Vicky, of Mainland. He is also survived by a brother, Joseph Reckner of Lansdale; and his sisters, Annette Nichols of Lansdale; and Catherine 'Cassy' Kauflie of Sebring, Fla.
A viewing is Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale. A funeral Mass is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Corpus Christi Church, 920 Sumneytown Pike, Upper Gwynedd.
