Harleysville Man Arrested With 131 Pills After Caught Speeding

Michael Matthew Smagalski, 27, of Harleysville, was committed to prison in lieu of $25,000 cash bail.

A 27-year-old Harleysville man was arrested June 14 for being in possession of 131 pills of 19 different types during a traffic stop.

Michael Matthew Smagalski, of the 800 block of Continental Drive, was arrested by Towamencin police for possession of controlled substances with the intent to deliver, after he was stopped on Tanglewood Way at Rittenhouse Road for speeding, police said.

He was also charged with possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled susbstance, receipt in commerce of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, and driving while a license is revoked or suspended, police said.

Police said Smagalski allegedly had 131 pills consisting of 19 different types of controlled substances and $1,500 in cash.

Smagalski was arraigned by District Judge Thomas Palladino of Pottstown and committed to Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 cash bail, police said.

He is currently out on bail.
