Pot Dealer Sold to Undercover Cop in School Parking Lot, Police Say

Leon Erwin Nazian, 58, of the 300 block of Chelsea Road, Fairless Hills, and employee of Lansdale Meats and Deli, allegedly sold an ounce of marijuana to an undercover cop in Lansdale in the parking lot of Mater Dei Catholic School.

A Bucks County man has been arrested and charged with selling a total of three ounces of marijuana to an undercover Lansdale cop in the parking lot of Mater Dei Catholic School on three occasions.

Leon Erwin Nazian, 58, of the 300 block of Chelsea Road, is also an employee at Lansdale Meats and Deli on Broad Street in Hatfield Township, police said.

Nazian is charged with three felony counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, two felony counts of criminal use of a cell phone, three misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, three misdemeanor counts of possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia and three misdemeanor counts of receipt in commerce of a controlled substance, according to court records.

In late December 2012, Lansdale Police received details that an employee at the deli named "Leon" was allegedly involved in selling marijuana, police said. An investigation revealed the employee to be Nazian.

Police said Nazian allegedly sold an ounce to a plainclothes cop from Lansdale on Jan. 9, Jan. 25 and Feb. 22 after hours at the Catholic school.

After making the alleged final sale on Feb. 22, Nazian was stopped and taken into custody while driving on the 200 block of East Seventh Street, police said.

Police seized Nazian's vehicle and $3,400 cash, police said.

Nazian was arraigned before District Judge Kenneth Deatelhauser of Souderton, who set bail at $10,000 cash, according to court records. Nazian is currently incarcerated at Montgomery County prison, in lieu of bail, police said.

A preliminary hearing is pending before District Judge Harold Borek.

In March 1993, Nazian was arrested and charged in Middletown Township, Bucks County on possession of a contolled substance, possession with intent to deliver and use/possession of drug paraphernalia charges, according to court records.
