There was an attempted looting of the CVS Pharmacy at 840 Valley Forge Road in the early morning hours of Oct. 31.
Towamencin Township Police are investigating an attempted burglary of the CVS that occurred between 2 a.m. and 4:33 a.m., police said.
A Towamencin officer on patrol saw that an exterior glass panel next to the external front entrance doors was broken out, police said.
Further investigation showed that a second glass panel within the entrance foyer area, which allows access into the store, was also broken out, police said.
Backup was called in from Upper Gwynedd Township Police and Lansdale Police, as well as a canine unit from Montgomery Township. Police secured a perimeter around CVS and search the building, police said.
Nothing appeared to be missing or tampered with, police said. However, it is unclear if the burglar or burglars actually gained entry, police said.
The alarm system did not activate, police said, and was likely disabled by storm-related power surges and interruptions.
