Hatfield Teen Charged With Alleged Heroin Sales

Harley Duval, 19, of the 1300 block of Needham Circle, allegedly sold nine bags of heroin to an undercover Lansdale Borough drug task force officer. He is charged with five felonies and nine misdemeanors.

A Hatfield teenager who allegedly sold nine bags of heroin to an undercover Lansdale Borough drug task force officer has been arrested and charged with heroin sales in the borough.

Harley Duval, 19, of the 1300 block of Needham Circle, has been charged with three felony counts of possession with intent to deliver heroin, two felony counts of criminal use of a phone, three misdemeanor counts of possession of heroin, three misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and three misdemeanor counts of receipt in commerce, according to court records.

In February 2013, Lansdale Police officers of the Montgomery County District Attorney Drug Task Force, received informaiton that Duval was involved in the alleged sale of heroin, police said.

A month later, drug task force officers conducted surveillance in Hatfield Township and allegedly saw Duval arrive and meet with an individual, and then conduct a drug transaction, police said. Police recovered several packets from the transaction, which, when tested, determined to be heroin, police said.

On March 4, a Lansdale drug task force officer arranged to meet with Duval at a location on East Main Street in Lansdale, police said. Duval arrived driving a red Chevrolet Sonic.

Police said Duval allegedly sold four bags of heroin to the officer. 

Four days later, the officer met again with Duval at the same location. Duval arrived in the same car and allegedly sold five bags of heroin to the drug task force officer, police said.

An arrest warrant was subsequently issued by District Judge Harold Borek, police said.

On April 4, Lansdale drug task force officers located Duval on a home on Independence Way in Hatfield Township, where he was taken into custody, police said.

In Duval's possession were four hypodermic needles, numerous used blue glassine heroin bags, a glass marijuana pipe and two bags of heroin, police said. 

Duval was arraigned before District Judge Kenneth Deatelhauser in Souderton, who set bail at $25,000 cash, according to court records.

Duval remains incarcerated at Montgomery County prison.

A preliminary hearing is set for April 16 at Lansdale District Court.
