Hatfield Teen Killed While Walking on Route 309

Dennis Kee, 15, of Cindy Lane, Hatfield, was hit by a vehicle near Mill Drive and Route 309 Friday night. He was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital Saturday morning.

A Hatfield teenager was pronounced dead early Saturday morning at the emergency department of the Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest campus, according to the Lehigh County Coroner.

Dennis T. Kee, 15, of the 1700 block of Cindy Lane, Hatfield, was struck by a car around 11:32 p.m. Friday on Route 309/Bethlehem Pike near Mill Road, according to the coroner's office and police reports.

KYW Newsradio reported that Kee was walking with four friends on the side of the roadway prior to the accident. He was transported to Lehigh Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 12:35 a.m. His death has reportedly been ruled accidental by the Montgomery County Coroner's office.

Authorities located the driver of the car that struck Kee in a nearby parking lot, where he was interviewed by police about the accident, KYW reported.

Hatfield Township Police and the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office are investigating the incident. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call 215-855-0903 or 610-278-3368.
