iPod, GPS Stolen in Unlocked Car Thefts

Police advise to lock cars when keeping valuable items in them

It seems like common sense, but drivers continue to leave valuable items in unlocked cars, making them easy targets for thieves.

advise drivers to keep vehicles locked when parked unattended and not to store valuables inside vehicles, especially when said valuables are visible.

Such is the case of three thefts from cars that occurred in the township between the overnight hours of Jan. 15 to Jan. 16.

Police said $30 in change was stolen from a car parked on the 400 block of Shipwrighter Way.

In a separate incident, two vehicles were entered on the 100 block of Arden Court, located in a development off Rittenhouse Road.

A Garmin GPS, valued at $100, and an Apple iPod, valued at $200, were taken from the vehicles, police said.
