North Wales Man Injured in Accident

Christopher Kaighn was injured while riding a motorcycle in Upper Dublin

Christopher Kaighn, of North Wales, slid about 350 feet after he crashed his motorcycle in an accident on May 10 on Welsh Road in Upper Dublin Township, police said.

Kaighn was driving a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Welsh Road, police said, when he hit the back of another vehicle that turned in front of him.

Daniel Ebert, of Philadelphia, was westbound on Welsh Road in the left lane. He began to turn left, when Kaighn hit the back of his vehicle, police said. Ebert told police he did not see the second vehicle and had no idea how fast the vehicle was going.

A witness who was eastbound on Welsh Road told police that Kaighn began tailgating her vehicle, so she moved to the left lane, police said.

Kaighn then took off and the witness went back into the left lane, police said.

The witness told police Kaighn was traveling between 60 and 65 mph. Police said a truck was in the left lane, making a left onto Dresher Road, the intersection before the site of the accident.

The witness told police Ebert did not have a chance to see Kaighn before turning because of the truck and the speed Kaighn was traveling, police said.

Kaighn was checked out by EMS on scene, but refused to go the hospital, police said.

Kaighn told police that his family would take him to the hospital to get checked out.

No charges have been announced by police.
