POLICE: Burglaries Reported in Towamencin

In one incident, homeowners were sleeping when their vehicles in their garage were ransacked

Towamencin Police are investigating a series of burglaries and at least one attempted burglary that occurred overnight June 1 into June 2.

A home on the 1500 block of Bridle Path Drive was discovered burglarized when the homeowners woke up June 2, police said.

An enclosed porch was entered by removing a screen and opening a window. The garage was entered through an unlocked door, police said.

Entry was not gained into the main living quarters of the home, police said.

Two vehicles parked unlocked in the garage were ransacked, but nothing was reported taken, police said.

In an unrelated incident, a vehicle parked on the 1600 block of Bridle Path Drive was entered. Cigarettes, change and a flashlight were stolen, police said.

In a second incident, a detached garage on the 1600 block of Meadow Glen Drive was burglarized, police said. Entry was made through an unlocked door.

Reported stolen was a quantity of beer from the refrigerator, police said.

On the same block of Meadow Glen Drive, entry was attempted into a home through a partially open window, police said.

The screen was popped out, but a secondary locking device on the window prevented it from being opened, police said.
