Sellersville Man Faces 10-Year Jail Term for Attempted Child Enticement

Michael Barndt, 40, a former school cook and coach, pleaded guilty to attempted child enticement after getting caught in a sting operation.

A Sellersville man, who was caught in a sting operation attempting to arrange a sexual encounter via Craigslist with who he thought was a 14-year-old girl from Delaware, faces up to 10 years in prison for attempted child enticement.

Michael J. Barndt, 40, was a former cook at Lakeside School in Horsham Township and a football coach at a middle school in Springfield School District in Montgomery County, according to DelawareOnline.com. Barndt was also a counselor at Blue Bell Camp in Whitpain Township.

Barndt pleaded guilty last week to attempted child enticement, per the article. Barndt could be sentenced in February up to a minimum mandatory 10 years in prison to life, per reports.

An undercover federal agent responded to Barndt's personal on Craigslist seeking underage sex, per the report. He was arrested June 17 when he drove to a store on Concord Pike in Delaware to meet up with the girl.
