Three Charged in Four-County Marijuana Trafficking Ring

Charles Sadrin, 55, of Lincoln, Ca.; Dennis Frederick, 40, of Drexel Hill; and Jeffrey Frederick, 32, of Drexel Hill were arrested and charged May 7, according to court records.

Three men will head to a preliminary hearing next week at District Judge Robert Sobeck in Blue Bell on charges of marijuana possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and more for their alleged connection to a multi-county drug trafficking ring that distributed hundreds of pounds of marijuana from California throughout the region, according to The Reporter.

Charles Sadrin, 55, of Lincoln, Ca.; Dennis Frederick, 40, of Drexel Hill; and Jeffrey Frederick, 32, of Drexel Hill were arrested and charged May 7, according to court records.  All three are incarcerated at Montgomery County prison, in lieu of $4 million bail for Sadrin and Jeffrey Frederick, and $2 million bail for Dennis Frederick, according to court records.

According to a court affidavit, Sadrin supplied hundreds of pounds of marijuana to Dennis Frederick on a monthly basis, and in turn, the Fredericks sold the marijuana with “others known and unknown” in Montgomery, Bucks, Philadelphia and Delaware counties, beginning November 2012, according to court documents.

Investigators became aware of the alleged drug sales when they found numerous deliveries being made to a person in Whitpain Township, according to the affidavit.

Investigators surveilled Sadrin on April 22 as he traveled to Philadelphia, rented a truck, and drove it to a Delaware County business, where he allegedly picked up three large toolboxes, according to the affidavit. Sadrin then drove the truck into a garage on Sigel Street, police said.

Those toolboxes, police said, contained more than 200 pounds of high-grade marijuana.

Sadrin then allegedly met up with Dennis Frederick in South Philadelphia, where Frederick allegedly got into Sadrin’s truck with a box containing cash for payment of the marijuana, authorities allege.

A man in Whitpain then called Dennis Frederick about obtaining a lot of marijuana, police allege, who then had his brother Jeffrey Frederick deliver two pounds to the caller. Police said the Whitpain individual had been receiving deliveries of the drug from the Frederick brothers since November.

Sadrin allegedly repeated the same routine with Dennis Frederick on May 6. On that day, officers from the Pennsylvania State Police and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force raided the garage on Sigel Street, and allegedly found Sadrin, Frederick and a third man in “mid-deal” with cash and more than 200 pounds of marijuana, according to the affidavit.

Officers then served a search warrant on Jeffrey Frederick’s apartment in Fishtown, where he was found, along with packaged marijuana, police said.
