Update: Wood Stove Possible Cause of Taylor Road Fire

Fire Department of Montgomery Township and several other companies responded to the Wednesday morning fire at 1505 Taylor Road.

The Montgomery Township Fire Marshal is investigating what role a wood pellet stove may have played in the cause of a fire Wednesday morning on Taylor Road.

Township Director of Fire Services Rick Lesniak said damage to the home at 1505 Taylor Road was limited to the wall and the area around the stove.

Lesniak said fire crews from Fire Department of Montgomery Township, Hilltown Fire Co., Hatfield Vol. Fire Co., Colmar Fire Co. and Fairmount Fire Co. of Lansdale arrived to the dwelling fire shortly after 9:28 a.m.

Upon arrival, the fire was inside a wall at the rear of the home, he said.

Crews opened up the wall and extinguished the fire, Lesniak said. The fire was under control by 9:42 a.m. Lesniak said crews remained to retain fire expansion and extinguish any hot spots.
