Discover Lansdale Offering Letters to Santa

Children can write their wish list to Santa at the Christmas tree lighting ceremony Dec. 6 in Railroad Plaza.

It's time for that Christmas wish list, and no better place than at Lansdale's Christmas tree lighting ceremony with Santa Claus himself.
At the Dec. 6 event at Railroad Plaza, youth can get started on their letters to Santa Claus, as Discover Lansdale is providing "Letters to Santa."
Children are encouraged to write to Santa and then drop the letters into a big green velvet bag.
"At the end of the night, Discover Lansdale elves will deliver the letters to Santa," said Council Vice President and Discover Lansdale Chairwoman Mary Fuller at Tuesday's Lansdale town hall.
"If children need more time, we'll make sure he gets it," she said.
Santa will be available during the Santa House, where he will welcome children and hear what they want for Christmas.
The Santa House will be open Dec. 7 through Dec. 21, and hours are Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Fridays, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to noon.
"Children can take the letter with them and write it at home, and then take it to Santa at the house," Fuller said.
The Christmas tree lighting event begins at 6 p.m. Dec. 6, featuring holiday music by the North Penn High School chorus. Rosenberger's and Clemens Food Group are providing food and refreshments. Santa arrives at 6:30 p.m. to light the tree.
