Bradford Wins Third Term in 70th District

Democrat Matthew Bradford won re-election to the Pennsylvania General Assembly 70th District.

"It's heartening," Bradford said of the win. "I never take elections for granted. You don't take a lot of days off, you knock on a lot of doors and work really hard."

Bradford noted, however, that he didn't do it alone.

"I have a great staff that's worked hard for the last four years and I had a great campaign staff that worked very hard," he said.

This will be Bradford's third term, as he won the seat in the 2008 election.

Unofficial tallies in Montgomery County, with all 29 precincts reporting, showed Bradford with 20,442 votes to Republican challenger Jim Phillips' 11,086 votes.

In the North Penn area, Pennsylvania General Assembly District 70 covers Towamencin Township Wards 2-2, 2-3, and 3-3.

Bradford continues to pull ahead in the Pennsylvania General Assembly District 70 race with 13,756 unofficial votes to Republican Jim Phillips' 6,410, at nearly 50 percent of precincts reporting.

Incumbent Democrat Matthew Bradford has about 71 percent of the vote for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives seat in District 70.

With six of 29 precincts reporting in Montgomery County, Bradford has 3,505 votes to Republican challenger Jim Phillips' 1,443 votes, according to unofficial Montgomery County results.

In the North Penn area, Pennsylvania General Assembly District 70 covers Towamencin Township Wards 2-2, 2-3, and 3-3.
