[VIDEO] Lansdale Council President Matt West's Comedic Sendoff

West sought not to seek re-election to his Ward Three post in order to spend more time with his wife and three sons.

Council President Matt West's most difficult decision in his career didn't occur inside the meeting room at Lansdale Borough Hall or even the temporary room at North Penn's Educational Services Center.
The decision not to run for re-election for Lansdale Council was the hardest thing West had to do, and he thought long and hard about it.
"I tell you, it's been one of the most difficult decisions I've made in my life, thus far. Certainly, I continue to wrestle with it, even up to today," West said after Wednesday's council session—his last as president.
"It's that balance between family and public service. Yeah, it's great, but, four years of my life invested, it's difficult to just walk away from that," he said. "I'm not going anywhere. I'll be around. My kids need me right now. That's going to be my focus for the next several years."West believed he accomplished most of what he wanted to do in four years.
"It feels as though we worked so hard to get to this point, where now we can implement many of the things and have a lot of fun. We've cleaned up a lot of mess to this point and now we can have fun with it," he said.
